Some Trade Me listings hit a bum note - they just don't get the attention they should. Then there are those listings that blow up and that's exactly what happened when a member called Bailey cheekily listed a 9x9cm tattoo on her backside.

The winner of the auction got the opportunity to put any tattoo they wanted on Bailey's bottom, subject to her approval.

Bailey's auction certainly caught the eye of punters, with the help of media from New Zealand and around the world (below), it got over 155,000 views and sold for $6500 to a buyer who was purchasing on behalf of eccentric musician 'Sir' Ivan Wilzig.

Mr Wilzig is appartently flying Bailey to Miami in January to get a rainbow tattoo that will help promote his latest single, a cover of John Lennon's 'Imagine'.

You can't make this stuff up.

It's not the first time we've seen this phenomenon and Bailey tipped her hat to a famous bum tattoo listing of the past during this media storm. Famously/infamously Tina Beznec listed a bum tattoo in 2012. TIna went on to make $12,450 from Calendar Girls along with creating the 5th most popular Trade Me listings of all time at over 355,000 views.

You've got to love random auctions that make headlines around the world!
