Last week the chance to have dinner with Winston Peters and Shane Jones went up for auction to raise money for Koru Care NZ.
The description said that the three-course dinner could be at one of three locations and would be a "very special night to remember".
The fundraising listing caught the eye of heaps of Kiwis and had over 43,000 views and close to 700 watchlists.
In the end, after one heated bidding war, it was Gun City owner David Tipple who won after forking out $7,350 to have dinner with the pair.
Several media articles emerged about the auction.
