Spectacular scheduling sees the 2017 British and Irish Lions tour kicking off in the middle of the Queen's Birthday long weekend, against the terrifyingly named NZ Provincial Barbarians. It's a perfect storm of Britishness, and also your last public holiday for 140 days.
Although you can't buy or sell Lions tickets on Trade Me, you can load up on Lions memorabilia from days gone by including the ball from the 1983 Lions game in Whangarei, a boxed set of programmes from 2005, or this weird Disney plate from the 1960 tour of duty.
We expect there will be thoughtful fundraisers of Lions and All Blacks-related kit from in and around the tour, and maybe some opportunistic rugby celebrity corn cobs or Coke bottles will land onsite too. The creativity of the Trade Me community never ceases to amaze.
