Butter be quick

A block of butter popped up on Trade Me this week, titled ‘Fonterra Cooperative Artwork’ in protest of Fonterra CEO Theo Spierings’ multi-million dollar pay packet.

The ‘quality artwork’ was listed as a ‘charity auction’ with all proceeds going to either “a Fonterra worker of your choice who lacks job security”, “a Fonterra farmer who’s struggling” or “a townie who cannot afford to buy butter.”

The listing received a lot of attention, with over 3,500 views and nearly 100 people adding the listing to their watchlist.

The block of butter eventually sold for a whopping $50 but you can still view the listing here.
