We see some amazing acts of generosity on Trade Me but one in particular caught our eye this week.
A selfless person in Whanganui gave the Cancer Society a beautiful refurbished 1963 Humber 90 to auction.
This good samaritan, who wants to stay anonymous, has dedicated hours of their life and thousands of dollars to refurbishing this old beauty for a great cause.
The Cancer Society had no idea and described it as 'the shock of their lives' when he handed over the keys.
How cool is that?!
Media around the country reckon this is pretty cool too and have given the auction plenty of publicity including:
- Beloved Humber 90 up for cancer society auction - NZ Herald
- Classic car auction to boost Cancer Society funds - Stuff
- Lovingly restored classic car set to fetch top dollar on Trade Me auction - Seven Sharp
Update 13 June - The Humber sold for $40,051 on Friday night. The Cancer Society were stoked and it was a great result!
