Two of Lower Hutt’s finest, Grace Whitaker and Chelsea Cameron, are on a mission to volunteer in Nepal and needed some help raising cash to get there. How could the Trade Me community help? Buy a date with the two of them of course!
The listing caused a bit of a stir with media all over the show keeping an eye on it. Even the Daily Mail covered the ‘lesbian couple auctioning a date’.
The ladies’ listing attracted nearly 30,000 views, 22 questions and had 186 watchers but the lucky bidder was Upper Hutt’s Chris Scott, who paid $400 to hang out with the Grace and Chelsea. Apparently Chris has decided to turn the date into a foursome and will bring along a mate.
It was a clever – and slightly risqué – way to raise money. Good luck to Grace and Chelsea in their volunteering endeavours in Nepal.
