Interior of the Year 2016 Supreme Winner

Every year NZ House & Garden magazine holds a search for the country’s most beautiful single room. Entries are open to one and all: homeowners, interior designers and architects.

Judges look for rooms they consider to be both functional and visual; beautiful rooms that speak about their owners and the way that they live.

Angela Kemp was the Supreme Winner, and you can see her personal style punctuating the design of her lush and tranquil conservatory. Angela’s entry won her the ‘out of the ordinary category’ and the overall Supreme Winner award.

Inspired by the Auckland Domain Wintergardens, Angela’s space started with a Trade Me conservatory which she shipped from Dunedin to her home in the Waikato. She then filled her ‘happy space’ with ferns, bromeliads and lilies, as well as a shell chandelier and a water feature. Well done, Angela – we love it!

If Angela’s happy space inspires you, check out the Outdoor, garden and conservatory section over on Trade Me, and maybe we will see your entry in next year’s Interior of the Year awards.
