A No.8 jersey worn by the late great rugby legend Jerry Collins has been listed for sale on Trade Me by Hurricanes team commercial manager Sam Rossiter-Stead.
Jerry Collins was sadly killed alongside his partner Alana Madill in a car crash in the south of France in 2015. The former All Black is thought to have thrown himself across his daugther Ayla's body to protect her from the impact of a bus. She survived, but spent months in hospital.
Sam said he'd been waiting for the right time to sell the jersey to raise as much money as possible for Ayla. Punting it up before the big game ths weekend was a good way to get attention, and hopefully raise a significant sum to help towards her recovery.
