No qualifications, no problem

We know that finding the right job can be a tricky task, particularly if you don’t have a tertiary qualification. Recently we teamed up with the awesome businesses behind NZTalent to create a dedicated search filter so job hunters can find skills-based roles being advertised on Trade Me with no qualification required.

The NZTalent mantra is ‘the right talent for the right role’ the idea is that sometimes passion, contemporary knowledge and life skills is more beneficial to employers than a tertiary qualification.

Head of Trade Me Jobs Jeremy Wade said, "We want to make sure that all Kiwis are aware of their options. While tertiary qualifications and study work well, it is certainly not the only avenue to securing a great job as many employers’ value life experience and passion above all else."

Trade Me joins over 100 other New Zealand companies like Spark, Fonterra, Xero and ASB who signed an open letter declaring that tertiary qualifications are not required for a range of roles within their workplaces.

Job hunters can now search these roles through the Trade Me job site.
