Top 10 Property listings of 2017

A spaceship, a brick church and The Block NZ houses were amongst the top 10 most popular Trade Me Property listings of 2017.

Kiwis love to have a nosy at the beautiful and bizarre homes, baches and buildings hiding around the country.

The most popular Trade Me Property listing of 2017 was pretty out of this world. A rare Futuro spaceship in Otago which was built in 1974 received over 63,000 views when it landed on Trade Me in September. With only 96 Futuro houses in the world New Zealanders wanted to know what on earth was inside.

Ling & Zing’s house was the second most viewed property of 2017 with 52,760 views, followed closely by The Block NZ winners Andy & Nate’s house which came third with 47,195 views.

Kiwis love their home renovation shows so it came as no surprise that all four houses from The Block NZ made the top 10 along with two Grand Designs homes in Dargaville and Queenstown.

A particular favourite of ours was a concrete water tower in Rangitikei which had over 38,000 views and was once linked to an old psychiatric hospital. The eerie rapunzel-like tower begged for some good old Kiwi ingenuity to create it into a home or B&B.

In 2017 we saw some weird and wonderful properties pop up on Trade Me so check out our top 10 below.
