The Block winners’ epic Renovation Road Trip

Since winning The Block season 2 in 2013, Alice & Caleb Pearson haven’t stopped renovating.

The clever couple have bought, renovated and sold three Auckland homes, and are now set to pack up their young family and take their property prowess on the road.

“For the next year we are going to be buying, living, renovating, staging and selling. And then repeat. And repeat. And potentially repeat,” says Alice.

“Moving would make me nervous if we were moving and then going into full time jobs. But the whole point of the Renovation Road Trip is to spend more time with the kids, do what we enjoy and get to adventure around New Zealand.”

The couple are aiming for 3-4 locations all up, with locations like Nelson, Queenstown, Dunedin, Christchurch, Timaru and Oamaru on their radar.

“I’m really excited to live life differently, but pursue what we love at the same time,” says Caleb, who project manages the renovations while Alice leads the design.

The couple are regular Trade Me users, finding it easy to watchlist and share listings with each other, as well as sell unneeded fittings and contact real estate agents direct from the Trade Me Property app.

With a palpable energy, Alice is excited about what’s in store for the family as they hatch slightly mad plans for tackling up to four renovations in the space of 12-18 months.

“It’s not easy, but certainly not impossible!”
