Toyota’s fully kitted out 2017 Hilux Gladiator has been generating plenty of action in the Trade Me arena. What kicked off as a $1 reserve auction has swiftly cranked into gear, with more than 1,300 watchers looking on as bidding crossed the $70k mark ahead of Wednesday’s final run.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Gladiator, it was built by Toyota NZ for the 2017 Fieldays to showcase the huge range of modifications and accessories Hilux fans can add to their beloved utes. The more than 30 changes include custom fog light surrounds, a nylon winch and leather wrapped steering wheel.
At the time the Gladiator was built it was worth north of $120k and since then has only added a touch over 6000kms to its clock. The team at Toyota have also thrown the next two services and WOF checks for free, as well as a 2-hour one-on-one training with expert 4WD offroad driver Pete Ritchie from Natural Instincts.
There is no other Hilux like it in the country and probably never will be again, so don’t miss the chance to have a gander - or if you’re feeling flush have a crack at owning it.
