Baxter

Newsroom 2 (2)

“The majority of my clothes are second-hand. It's cheaper, more exciting and also I think it leads to a lot more unique looks. I basically see Trade Me like a massive online op shop.”

Baxter is a Commercial Music student, spending his time out of class working on musical projects and skating. He finds Trade Me as a place to snap up a bargain and find something he can wear day-in-day-out.

Megan

Newsroom 3 (2)

Megan is a style blogger at Mode & Methodology, and a long time Trade Me Fashion fan. She loves the hunt for something unique, as a special second-hand purchase is better for the environment and her wallet. One of Megan’s favourite purchases is “a fabulous red and black rococo silk blazer from Trelise Cooper that I got for an absolute steal in brand new condition, with the tags on and everything. I wore it to an important interview and it must have worked because I won the award I was interviewing for!”

“My favourite purchase is my knee high Tabi boots that I now wear everyday, I remember having heart palpitations seeing them listed”

Day to day she lives and loves fashion. Ch’lita is a big fan of New Zealand designers and has a bunch of cool stories of people she’s met through trading. “There's one particular lady I've met named Candice who I bought a really beautiful Marilyn Sainty dress from. She dropped off the dress while I was out and gave my boyfriend this really special silk dress from the 1920s to give to me because she enjoyed our correspondences. She's great! We still text each other and she tells me when her friends are having garage sales.”
